I love to explore around trees in forests, farms and roadsides, both rural and urban, searching for the dynamic that will ignite a passion, resulting in a painting that encourages and challenges the viewer to explore an unfamiliar aspect of a familiar object.

My favourite medium is pastel, but I also love oils which work similarly to pastels in the build up and effect that can be gained. But, pencils - graphite, coloured and more recently pure silver are mediums that allow me to explore in detail, while being great for calming as the process is rather meditative.

Artist CV

After my fathers’ death, as a fifteen year old, I inherited his set of pencils and pastels (which have been added to over the years), along with a love of drawing and a life-long curiosity in the lines, forms and colours that surround us.  And it is to him that she gives thanks for inheriting balanced skills on both the left and right sides of the brain.

It is only in the last few years that I have exhibited my paintings. I have been assisted in my journey with mentors and teachers, Belinda John in Bendigo and Robyn Schubert, Linda Weil and Regina Hona in Melbourne.

Several paintings now hang in schools and private homes in Victoria, WA and NSW, and a painting of the Long Tan battle in Vietnam hangs in the Executive Suite at Anzac House.

I am a member of Edward River Art Group and the Pastel Society of Victoria Australia.
